We do our best to create a culture where God's presence can be seen and felt in everything that we do and say and that is motivated by things that we value as a community of Faith. Discovery Church is not a perfect church but we feel that we are on mission when we practice what we value in everyday life.
Culture of (Biblical) Truth
We are a church built upon the truth of the Bible. The Bible does not merely “contain” truth; it is Truth.
John 1:14, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, John 17:17, Colossians 3:16, Acts 2:42
Culture of (Bighearted) Sacrifice
We believe that God wants us to be generous with our time, talents and treasure. As individuals and as the church, it is our privilege to give generously to people in need; serve others inside and outside of our four walls, and use our gifts to build God’s Kingdom.
Acts 2:44-45, Galatians 6:2, 2 Corinthians 9:7, Psalm 112:5
Culture of (Uncommon) Grace
Our church exists to make Jesus known, and we want every individual who visits Discovery to experience the life-changing message of Jesus.
You will be encouraged to grow, but not judged for your pace.
Ephesians 2:8-9, Hebrews 12:15, John 1:16, Acts 2:47a
Culture of (Common) Pursuit
We gather to scatter. We cannot merely exist here for years, making little or no impact in the community, and call ourselves successful followers of Christ. We lock arms together to build God’s Kingdom here in Columbus and around the world!
Acts 1:8, Philippians 2:2, Luke 4:18-19, Acts 2:47b
Culture of (Radical) Hospitality
At the heart of Jesus’ message is a radical welcome extended to all people to draw near to God and to one another. We do this corporately through worship gatherings and community groups but it doesn’t stop there. Hospitality is demonstrated where you live, work, and play with your neighbors, co-workers, and friends.
Acts 2:46, Hebrews 13:12, Romans 12:13, Galatians 6:10, 1 Peter 4:9, Mark 9:41
